You should visit the historical peninsula to wander across the historical streets. You can visit Spice Bazaar, Grand Bazaar, Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia Museum, Basilica Cistern, Beyazıt Square, Sultanahmet Square, Sleymaniye Mosque and Sultanahmet Mosque in the historical peninsula.
The Blue Mosque is a historical mosque in Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire (from 1453 to 1923). The mosque is known as the Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles adorning its interior walls.
It was built between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Sultan Ahmet the 1st like many other mosques. There is the tomb of its founder, a madrasa and hospice within the mosque.
Galata Tower, Taksim Square and Istiklal Street are other important points to visit.
