Since 2014, it has been serving within Medipol University Faculty of Medicine. Currently, there are 2 professors, 1 assistant professor and 2 specialists.

The main topics of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology are childhood blood diseases and cancers.

Especially anemias (anemia), white blood cell diseases, bleeding – coagulation disorders, leukemias, lymphomas and solid tumors, which are common in this age group, constitute the fields of study. She is involved in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of all these diseases. While most of the diseases are monitored on an outpatient basis, especially leukemia and cancers are treated as inpatients. In addition to outpatient clinics and inpatient services, the department also has a stem cell transplantation (SCT) unit. In this 11-bed modern unit, stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is performed for pediatric patients requiring HSCT with diagnoses such as anemias (thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, etc.), congenital – acquired bone marrow deficiencies, immune deficiencies, storage diseases, leukemias and cancers, etc. and with all kinds of modern methods (with own marrow, from siblings, from bone marrow bank, haploidentical, etc.).

Due to the life-threatening patients that our department deals with, it has a relationship with all sub-disciplines of pediatrics. In particular, intensive care, infection, chest diseases, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, nephrology, neurology, pediatric surgery, pediatric psychiatry, etc. can be listed. We also have ongoing relationships with the blood bank and apheresis unit, radiation oncology, dermatology, ophthalmology, ophthalmology, ENT department, orthopedics and neurosurgery. Dental diseases, physiotherapy and diet departments are also helpful.
